ALAIN TROPIS
Head of Digital Design Manufacturing & Services, Airbus, France

as Keynote Speaker

 

 

Alain began his career in 1983 at Aerospatiale working on the development of the composite outer wing of the ATR72 as a Structural Analysis specialist.

He then worked as a Stress Analysis Manager before being nominated as the Head of Composite Department (Design & Stress) and in 2001 became the VP Head of Nose and center Fuselage for all Airbus Programs.

In 2007, he took the program role of A350 XWB Head of Airframe, Cabin & System integration for 2 years.

He was then nominated SVP Head of Airframe Engineering and held the role from 2009 to 2012 following which he moved to Stelia Aerospace as Chief Operating Officer. At Stelia, he went on to be the Head of Business Line Development and following a reorganization, was nominated as the Head of Programmes and Engineering at Stelia.

He is now back in Airbus since the mid of 2018 to drive DDMS (Digital Design Manufacturing & Services), a key transformation programme that will shape the way we design, build and operate our future products.

Alain received the Award Title Charles Sharpe Beecher Prize in 1993 by publishing the paper entitled “Certification of the Composite Outer Wing of the ATR72” which was presented at the Seminar Airworthiness Requirements – Developments in the Recent Years, he received the “Medaille de l’Aeronautique” in 2014.
